The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) has taken a significant step towards fostering greater community engagement and ensuring educational excellence with the launch of its Superintendent's Advisory and Advocacy Alliance, affectionately known as the "Triple-A Team." This initiative marks a commitment to collaborative leadership and promises to be a powerful force for positive change within the district of 199 schools and more than 20,000 employees. Following a rigorous selection process that involved reviewing 120 interest submissions, WCPSS recently welcomed a diverse group of individuals to the inaugural Triple-A Team. Led by Superintendent Dr. Robert P. Taylor and Community Partnerships Coordinator Dr. Brooksie B. Sturdivant, team members, represent a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and are united by a shared dedication to the well-being and success of every student in Wake County.
The Triple-A Team is a working group with a clearly defined mandate. Members will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of WCPSS by:
- Serving as a Vital Resource: The team will provide invaluable input and feedback to the Superintendent and his leadership team, ensuring that decisions are informed by the diverse needs and perspectives of the Wake County community.
- Guiding Strategic Decisions: Members will review critical data, annual goals, and plans, offering recommendations to help guide the district's strategies and ensure they are aligned with the goal of excellence and equity.
- Fostering Community Collaboration: The Triple-A Team will act as a bridge between the school system and the public, promoting transparency, building trust, and fostering a spirit of shared accountability.
The strength of the Triple-A Team lies in its diversity. By bringing together individuals from various backgrounds – parents, educators, community leaders, business professionals, and more – WCPSS is ensuring that a wide range of perspectives are represented in crucial conversations about the future of education in Wake County. This commitment to inclusivity is essential for creating a school system that truly serves the needs of all its students. This also acknowledges the value and wisdom that individuals from different walks of life bring to the table. Underscoring WCPSS's unwavering commitment to excellence and equity, by actively seeking input from the community and fostering open dialogue, the district is demonstrating its dedication to creating a school system where every student has the opportunity to thrive. The Triple-A Team is poised to make a significant impact on the Wake County Public School System. Through meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and a shared commitment to educational excellence, this group has the potential to transform practices, strengthen community partnerships, and ultimately, create a brighter future for all students in Wake County.
