Lady Eagles Soar Past Lady Bulldogs

The NC Central women’s basketball team delivered a commanding 71-56 victory over South Carolina State, marking their fourth consecutive win.

The game was a hard-fought battle from the opening tip. In the first half, NC Central guard Ayshia Hinton (0) and SC State’s Jada Morgan (23) scrambled for loose balls, reflecting the high intensity on both sides. Guard Shakiria Foster (10) showcased her speed, driving the ball past SC State’s Angie Juste-Jean (9) to set the offensive tempo for the Lady Eagles.

In the second half, forward Morgan Callahan (3) took charge in the paint, scoring between SC State defenders Ariana Perry (12) and Heaven Harper (24). Jada Tiggett (12) also stepped up, battling Harper once more to convert critical shots.

The Lady Eagles’ defensive pressure and balanced scoring proved too much for the Lady Bulldogs, who struggled to contain NC Central’s momentum. The victory solidified NCCU’s place as a strong contender in the MEAC standings. Steve Worthy Photos
