The Carolinian is the largest African-American newspaper in North Carolina. Our circulation covers 2/3 of the state, which is the most dense African-American population in NC, and our digital reach is nationwide. A “Poker Run” will be held for COTA in honor of Kristen Allen, who has had a heart transplant. The event is planned for Nov. 9th, at the Angier Black River Fire Department. 25-year-old Kristen Allen has received a Heart transplant at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Funds are being raised in honor of Kristen Allen to assist with transplant-related expenses.

North Carolina A&T State University’s Theatre Arts Program presents A Doll’s House, written by Henrik Ibsen, directed and adapted by guest director Dr. Asabi Howard; it confronts female empowerment and male domination issues that have made this play a controversial theatre classic since its premiere in 1879.
