In honor of the federally recognized holiday Juneteenth, the third annual North Carolina Official Juneteenth Flag-Raising Ceremony will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, outside the Durham County Courthouse (510 S. Dillard Street). The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., and the flag-raising will take place at approximately 12 p.m.

Project ALPHA is a free, mentor-led workshop for young men entering grades 8–12. Lenoir Street in Raleigh, NC , a Ligon Advisory Council has been selected consisting of four J.W. Ligon High School Alumni, two Ligon Middle School faculty members, 1-2 Middle School parents, and 1-2 Middle School current students. The council’s first scheduled meeting is on August 18th.
