A “Poker Run” will be held for COTA in honor of Kristen Allen, who has had a heart transplant.  The event is planned for Nov. 9th, at the Angier Black River Fire Department. 25-year-old Kristen Allen has received a Heart transplant at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.  Funds are being raised in honor of Kristen Allen to assist with transplant-related expenses.

The MLK Coalition of Alamance County will host its 43rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Celebration on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 8:00am at Occasions 286 E. Front Street, Burlington, NC. The keynote speaker will be Pastor Keisha D. Bluford of Grace Outreach Ministry.

James Dargan will return to Raleigh to perform alongside NCCMI faculty in a concert that includes important and influential works by composers of color. Immediately prior to the concert (6:00pm), NCCMI will present, Conversation with the Composer! Anyone interested in how someone becomes a composer should plan to attend this interactive event.
