Congressional Black Caucus Members Campaign for Harris-Walz on North Carolina Early Vote Bus Tour

This weekend, members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and Congressional Black Caucus PAC (CBCPAC) continued their Bus Tour for Team Harris-Walz with stops in North Carolina. During the three-day tour of the state, the representatives energized Black voters across the state and encouraged voters to make their voice heard before early voting ends on November 2 or on Election Day.

Members of the CBC and CBCPAC highlighted Vice President Harris’ plan to create an opportunity economy so that every North Carolinian has the chance to not just get by, but get ahead. Her plans, including the Opportunity Agenda for Black Men, will make it easier for Black North Carolinians to provide for their families, buy a home, or start a small business. The Representatives also highlighted that under the leadership of Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden, there has been a boom in Black small business growth and a major reduction in Black unemployment.

This is in stark contrast with Donald Trump, who was a disaster for Black Americans while in office and would be even worse in a second term. Trump’s extreme Project 2025 agenda would raise taxes on working families, gut programs like the Affordable Care Act and Social Security that many rely on, and undermine our fundamental freedoms.

Members of the CBC and CBCPAC arrive at an early voting site in Raleigh, N.C. to greet community members and energize voters as early voting is underway.

“At this point of history, the baton is in our hands - and the determination of whether we're going to go forward or go back. And I know we're not going back, and we know it because North Carolina is not going to let it go back,” said CBCPAC Chair Gregory Meeks. “We know that you know who our Vice President is…she doesn’t have a ‘concept of a plan,’ she has a plan for getting things done. And she has a plan especially for people who look like me.”

“Kamala Harris is running to be a president for everyone, one that centers the humanity and the dignity of every person that calls this country home, every worker, every family model, every individual. And she has been precise and specific in her goals for Black folks,” said Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. “There's an adage that says, ‘when you pray, move your feet.’ … So let's move our feet to the polls for another world, because it is possible with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
