Catching Back Up with Ms. Bea

Dear #BankWithBea Friends,

It has been a few weeks since I have been able to write to you. There is so much that I want to share with you. I first want to say that I have missed writing to you. Part of being “Bea” is the responsibility of wearing many, many different hats.

Since you last heard from me, I have had to dive deep into work at the bank, as the leader of my branch. I was also recently elected to the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Future served as a judge for their State Leadership Experience. I am also a NC Phi Beta Lambda Mentor. It is an honor to be a part of this amazing organization. As you all know, I am extremely passionate about the recruitment and development of minority talent. Serving in this capacity gives me a direct hands-on approach.

A few weeks ago, I served as one of the guest speakers for the North Carolina Bankers Association’s HR Workshop. I discussed “Incorporating Inclusivity and Equity in Diverse Recruiting.” It was a great experience, and I was able to share my perspective on some of the common derailers in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of minority talent.

All of you have continued to be by my side along my journey of personal and professional development. This past week I was a special guest for an episode on LinkedIn LIVE with Elizabeth Leiba and Future Cain. It was phenomenal. We were able to “make the most of our lunch hour” to discuss the importance of financial literacy in our communities. This was such an amazing opportunity to create a huge impact in the financial industry, in multiple locations around the world and if you get a moment, please watch and share the recording. Be sure to comment and let me know what you think!

Friday evening, April 29, 2021, I will be a guest presenter for the Wilson Community College Small Business Center, discussing “How to Finance Your Small Business”. If you are an entrepreneur, you do not want to miss this! Make sure you register for this FREE event!

For the month of May, I have another speaking engagement, where I will be a panelist for the Delaware Bankers Association’s “Women Connect” series to discuss “Taking the Work Out of Networking.”

I have had so many amazing things going on all at the same time, and I could not wait to share with my amazing #BankWithBea forever friends. I am so grateful for this platform. I will be continuing articles about financial literacy, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and my personal and business development journey. We are in this together!

Connect with me on all social platforms, and let’s continue to build generational wealth in our community. I am available to speak at your organizations, churches, schools, LIVE sessions, etc. The possibilities are endless. #bankwithbea Email me [email protected]
