In the world of high school athletics, the term "student-athlete" is often used, but few embody it as completely as Keysaun Eleazer. A standout star on the football field and in the classroom at Southeast Raleigh High School, Eleazer recently announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at the prestigious Stanford University in California.
For the past four years, Eleazer has been a cornerstone of the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs program. Playing primarily as an H-back and outside linebacker, he has been instrumental in the team's upward trajectory. "It's been a good experience," Eleazer said of his time as a Bulldog. "Throughout the football program, you could tell it has been going up, and we've been improving every year."
His athletic prowess isn't limited to the gridiron. A true three-sport athlete, Eleazer has also excelled on the basketball court and on the track for Southeast. In track and field, he showcased his explosive versatility, competing in the 400-meter, 200-meter, high jump, long jump, and various relays. Despite his success across multiple disciplines, Eleazer confirmed he will be focusing his efforts solely on football when he heads to California.
What makes Eleazer’s commitment to a top-tier academic institution like Stanford so impressive is his dedication to his studies. While many athletes might focus on just getting by in the classroom, Eleazer thrives. "I enjoy all my classes pretty much," he noted, adding that he maintains an impressive 4.2 GPA. This commitment to excellence is a clear indicator of the discipline that drives him. While he excels in his schoolwork, his passion for his sport is never far from his mind. "I'll be ready for football practice, though," he said with a smile.
As Keysaun Eleazer prepares to trade his Bulldog blue for Stanford Cardinal red, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, athletic dominance, and academic achievement at Southeast Raleigh. He is a testament to what can be accomplished when talent is paired with unwavering dedication, and the Raleigh community will be watching proudly as he takes his next steps on the national stage.
