Our circulation covers 2/3 of the state, which is the most dense African-American population in NC, and our digital reach is nationwide. Manifest Fuquay-Varina is presenting a two-day Juneteenth celebration on June 16 and 19, 2023. The event on June 16 is a free STEM networking event for middle school and high school students, and the event on June 19 is an original ticketed performance. Both events take place at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, 123 East Vance Street, Fuquay Varina, NC.

Learn about the significance of Juneteenth and the celebration of freedom from slavery. We’ll read the children’s book “Juneteenth for Mazie” and visit the tenant house to learn about what freedom meant to the enslaved community at Oak View. Participants will create a take-home reminder by decorating their own Juneteenth flag.
