The Carolinian is the largest African-American newspaper in North Carolina. Our circulation covers 2/3 of the state, which is the most dense African-American population in NC, and our digital reach is nationwide. In addition to spanning the state, we also span generations of readers. Join us for the largest Juneteenth Festival in Raleigh! This spectacular three-day event will bring together the community, local businesses, and artists to celebrate freedom, culture, and empowerment.
Join us for the third annual Capital City Juneteenth Celebration at Dix Park on Saturday, June 17 from 1-6pm! Entertainment includes live jazz, spirituals, and R&B on the Big Field Main Stage, youth dance performances in the Chapel, and a kids' zone.

Get ready to celebrate freedom in a big way at the Research Triangle Park! There’s something for everyone at this event, with lawn games, food trucks, and live music to keep you entertained. But that’s not all – free Icees will be given to the first 30 people to arrive.
Manifest Fuquay-Varina is presenting a two-day Juneteenth celebration on June 16 and 19, 2023. The event on June 16 is a free STEM networking event for middle school and high school students, and the event on June 19 is an original ticketed performance. Both events take place at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, 123 East Vance Street, Fuquay Varina, NC.
Come learn about the history of the segregated business district and cultural hub for the Black community, known as Black Main Street.
Learn about the significance of Juneteenth and the celebration of freedom from slavery. We’ll read the children’s book “Juneteenth for Mazie” and visit the tenant house to learn about what freedom meant to the enslaved community at Oak View. Participants will create a take-home reminder by decorating their own Juneteenth flag.
Come join us to meet and get to know the members of the NCDSA Black Families community. Lunch will be served and childcare will be provided for pre-registered guests.
