Raleigh, NC – May 24, 2025 – Embrace the power of community at the NC Darkness RISING: Live 8 Block Party! Returning for its 8th year, this powerful event—hosted by Darkness RISING Nonprofit, a 501(c)(3) arts and mental health organization—offers a free, family-friendly day of live music, wellness, giveaways, and community connection in Moore Square, Downtown Raleigh, on May 24th from 2-6 PM.
This year’s block party is packed with show-stopping performances by hometown favorite, NiiTO Band, whose electrifying energy and soulful sound help put the Triangle on the map! Attendees will also enjoy:

Hosted and DJ’d by K97.5’s DJ Brian Dawson and 103.9’s Melissa “Wade in the Water,” this uplifting block party is more than just entertainment— This free, inclusive, and family-friendly event is not to be missed!
“Come for a celebration of Black culture, leave with free, culturally competent mental health resources,” says Carlita Ector, Founding Executive Director of Darkness RISING. The block party is more than just a good time – it’s a movement.
Proceeds from raffles will directly benefit REBUILD, a Darkness RISING initiative providing free therapy, advocacy, and wellness resources for justice-involved people of color.
