Innovation and efficiency has always been a part of The Carolinian's fibers. The founder, Paul R. Jervay, Sr., was a visionary and a businessman ahead of his time.
He was the first minority to publish syndicate newspapers statewide and the first person, black, white or other, to own a web printing press in Raleigh.
Paul Sr. understood business. He analyzed the racial inequalities of his time and found a way to both provide for his family and shoulder the community.
Hundreds of careers have started at The Carolinian and that is a legacy that we are extremely proud of.
